Turn Your JSON Content Into Ready For Use Objective-C Files.

Objectify is a tool for developers that allows them to turn JSON information into Cocoa class implementations for use with Objective-C. This is a task that some programmers (and many people) never deal with at all, and a task that others deal with often, making this a potentially indispensable tool for such programmers.

Foundations and structures

Objectify does its job well. It works fast and will take different types of JSON files, as long as they're organised into something that can easily become classes. If they're not, then there comes a risk that Objectify will not handle them well. Cyclical structures can be difficult for the app to work with, as can cases where arrays contain other objects that aren't in the model that Objectify is currently working with.

For developers with persistence

Overall, Objectify does a great job of wrangling JSON for developers who have a lot on their plate and want to simplify it. The tool is made for a specific purpose, and within that purpose it does stumble occasionally, but as long as your classes are well-made, you should generally have no problems. The tool is useful for both new and existing JSON developers.

PROS

  • Saves large amounts of time
  • Simple to use

CONS

  • Struggles with some arrays
  • Can crash entirely on error
